DIA.EXE is a very small utility which is configurable for
the DORINFOX.DEF Sysop to go into any DOOR he/she chooses,
while logged in as Sysop, changing his own name to something else,
(normally his/her real name) to play the game or run the door as himself.
DIA.ZIP and its associated file DSA.ZIP are Freeware, and distributed
as a method of introducing Sysops and others to the UltraSoft name
and the many Sysop Utilities, DOS enhancement utilities, and innovative
Graphic Action Door Games produced by UltraSoft.
If you want to make a contribution, as the result of benefit received
from the programs included in this package, then it is appreciated, but
is not required. In this case the address is:

======================================================================
CONFIGURATION OPTION 1: (Option 2 is easier)
Edit DIA.CFG with the first line as the \PATH\FileName of your
DORINFOx.DEF file. Usually it is in the C:\BBS default subdirectory,
but not always. Edit the second line as the FIRST name to intercept
upon entering any door, and the third line as the LAST name to
intercept. (In the case of SYSOP, the second lind is blank). Edit the
fourth line as the FIRST name to change it to and the fifth line as the
LAST name to change it to, to run the door. Before opening the next door,
the BBS software will reset the DORINFOx.DEF file back to it's original
state, so you must use DIA in each .BAT file where you want
the user name converted.
CONFIGURATION OPTION 2:
The simplest method of configuration of DIA is the DIACFG.EXE program,
but we list the detail here for the sake of understanding, in any case.
======================================================================
ALL 5 LINES MUST BE PRESENT.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Example: NOTE: Do not include notes in DIA.CFG file
DIA.CFG
~~~~~~~
Line 1: C:\BBS\DORINFO1.DEF <== \PATH\FileName of DORINFOx.DEF
Line 2: SYSOP <== First Name to intercept
Line 3: <== Last Name to intercept or blank for SYSOP
Line 4: STEVE <== First Name to change it to to run this DOOR
Line 5: HANSEN <== Last Name to change it to to run this DOOR
Place DIA.EXE and DIA.CFG into the \BBS Directory and put DIA
as the first command after @Echo Off in each .BAT file you wish
to run as your name, instead of Sysop.
EXAMPLE: TO RUN UltraSoft's ProChess DOOR as STEVE HANSEN
instead of SYSOP.
ProChess.BAT
~~~~~~~~~~~~ @ECHO OFF
DIA <==This will change the DOOR player name per DIA.CFG
CD\BBS\DOORS\PROCHESS
PROCHESS PROCHESS.CFG
CD\BBS
BBS (or whatever calls back in the BBS Software)
In this way, one does not have to exit after message activity or whatever,
to log back on as SYSOP, for game playing using his own name.
DIA completely ignores doors that do not have DIA in the .BAT files.
It also has no effect, if you are in the BBS as the name defined in
Lines 4 and 5 of DIA.CFG nor does it affect any other users, unless you
program their name into Line 2 and 3, to be intercepted and altered.
DIA stands for DORINFOx.DEF ALTER, and requires the presence of BRUN45.EXE
in the system path, in the interest of size..
DIA was written by Steve Hansen of "The Pit BBS" at (808)833-1525 and is a
product of UltraSoft/UltraSystems Hawaii. There are no costs associated with
the use or distribution of this product, as long as it is distributed AS IS.
Future versions will contain added features, and the capability to add more
name conversions to catch your "game crasher" set..
As indicated above, contributions are optional.
